Ski D-Fest 2k5

What a weekend!

Sure Friday started fine, most of them do. There was prolly a standard amount consumed for such an occation. But then, and by but then, I mean six hrs later, I just wanted to get some zzzs before the ski trip. How selfish of me to consider sleeping! It wasn’t just the pounding stereo, but there were some of my favorite obnoxious kids from Awa and Uni goin about talkin over it. At least occationally they would stop yapping to sing along to 80’s rock ballods.

Going off little sleep the long ride began, probably not really that long, but long enough. Ridin in the back of DP’s bus, James, Dan, Sean and I played hold ‘em the whole way to Canadia. Needless to say, the bus stopped a few times for us. Eventually, we did make it to Afton Alps, which has some pretty nice slopes. Justin and I started off on fairly easy — our snow legs hadn’t seen skis in a few yrs. Wasn’t too long before we were falling over ramps, but we overcame. Now I’m not a great skier, but I did manage to have fun and not get hurt. So perhaps Kaycee is right, it can be done… will need more trials to be sure. Anyway, there was much fun had by all and I don’t think anyone was hurt more than a few bruises and hangovers. Going out for pizza, we had deep philosophical discussions with our waitress about if she was a dinosaur what kind she would be and of course what color. That day ended by TS stopping by with Canadia’s best, Michelob Golden Draft Light. And there was much rejoicing.
